3 Methods of Correcting Dog Aggression
1. Dental Treatment: Biting has reportedly been corrected by grinding the canine (eye) teeth to a level just below that of the adjacent incisors. As reported in the feline literature, transection of the infraalveolar and infraorbital branches of the trigeminal nerves in mouse-killing cats caused the cats to normally stalk and pounce on the mice, but not bite them. This same procedure has worked for dogs as well, after grinding down the canine teeth as described. These findings suggest that impairing proprioception of the canine teeth may inhibit biting, though more clinical evidence is needed.
